In this section are the Records of the Masters of ships registered in the port Fowey

Masters of ships in the days of sail were recorded in various documents including Lloyds register, Lloyds lists, newspaper reports and local documents including harbour logs. The master was regarded as an important position and they often organised cargoes and were of course responsible for the safety and wellbeing of their vessel and crews. Often they were owners or share holders in the vessel.
